Panda White MB18

Panda White MB18 takes after the Chinese marble known for its strong, irregular charcoal veining on a white ground. It is one of the highest contrast slabs in the range, closer to a graphic pattern than to a conventional marble effect.

Where Panda White suits

This is a feature material. It is specified for islands, splashbacks, feature walls and reception desks, where the pattern is meant to be seen whole. It is rarely the right choice for a long run of worktop broken up by a hob and a sink, because the breaks interrupt the veining. Where it works, it works very hard.

Slabs in this range can be bookmatched, so two halves mirror each other across a join. On a large run or a feature wall that turns a practical join into the point of the design. Vein position is decided at the slab, which is why it is worth seeing the material rather than a sample.

Formats and finishes

This slab is stocked in 6mm in polished (rectified) and 12mm in polished (non-rectified).

Slabs are 3240 x 1620mm in 12mm and 3200 x 1600mm in 6mm. The 12mm is supplied unrectified, so the usable working area in both is 3200 x 1600mm. As porcelain, the surface is stain, scratch and heat resistant, non-porous and needs no sealing. The polished finish lifts the contrast further. A satin or matt scheme elsewhere will keep it from dominating.
