Calacatta Oro White MB06

Calacatta Oro White MB06 takes after the Italian marble of the same name, where the characteristic feature is gold. Warm amber and gold veins run alongside the grey on a white ground, and it is that gold that separates Calacatta Oro from the Calacatta whites and the Statuarios.

Where Calacatta Oro White suits

The warmth makes it a natural partner for brass and antique bronze ironmongery, walnut and oak joinery, and warmer paint colours. It is a popular worktop and island choice for exactly that reason. It is less at home in a cool grey and chrome scheme, where the gold can read as a mismatch rather than an accent.

Slabs in this range can be bookmatched, so two halves mirror each other across a join. On a large run or a feature wall that turns a practical join into the point of the design. Vein position is decided at the slab, which is why it is worth seeing the material rather than a sample.

Formats and finishes

This slab is stocked in 6mm in satin, polished (rectified), 12mm in satin, polished (non-rectified) and 20mm in satin, polished (non-rectified).

Slabs are 3240 x 1620mm in 12mm and 3200 x 1600mm in 6mm. The 12mm is supplied unrectified, so the usable working area in both is 3200 x 1600mm. In 20mm, slabs are 3240 x 1590mm unrectified, with a working area of about 3200 x 1570mm. As porcelain, the surface is stain, scratch and heat resistant, non-porous and needs no sealing. This is one of the few in the range stocked in 20mm as well, which suits worktops where the edge is on show and furniture where a substantial profile is wanted.
