OC10 Taj Mahal – A Masterpiece in Porcelain

Taj Mahal

At Clay International, we pride ourselves on being a leading porcelain slab distributor in the UK, supplying premium surfaces from Infinity Surfaces that combine realism, resilience, and refined design. One of the standout materials in our collection is OC10 Taj Mahal – a porcelain slab that beautifully captures the luxurious elegance of natural quartzite, with all the performance benefits of Infinity porcelain.

A Realistic Take on Natural Stone

With its soft ivory tones and delicate golden veining, OC10 Taj Mahal is a tribute to timeless sophistication. The hyper-realistic detail of this surface makes it nearly indistinguishable from real stone, offering a warm and versatile aesthetic that works beautifully across both classic and contemporary design schemes.

Whether used as a porcelain worktop, splashback, feature wall, or floor finish, OC10 Taj Mahal provides the perfect balance of natural beauty and engineered strength.

Finishes and Thicknesses to Suit Any Application

Available in two refined finishes – Polished and Satin – OC10 Taj Mahal brings a choice of surface textures depending on the desired look and feel. The polished version adds depth and reflectivity, while the soft touch finish delivers a smooth, matte elegance.

This slab is also available in three thicknesses – 6mm, 12mm, and 20mm – allowing flexibility across a wide range of applications:

  • 6mm: Ideal for vertical cladding, splashbacks, and furniture elements
  • 12mm: Popular for both worktops and walls, offering a sleek, contemporary profile
  • 20mm: A robust option for those who prefer a thicker, heavier worktop finish

Both 12mm and 20mm options are commonly used for porcelain worktops, with the choice often coming down to aesthetic preference rather than function. Some clients prefer the lightweight, streamlined feel of 12mm, while others favour the bold, substantial look of 20mm.

Why Choose Infinity Slabs?

As exclusive UK distributors of Infinity Slabs, we offer architects, designers, and fabricators access to some of the most advanced porcelain on the market. Infinity porcelain slabs are:

  • Scratch, heat, and stain-resistant
  • Low maintenance and easy to clean
  • UV stable, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use
  • Available in large formats, reducing grout lines and enhancing visual continuity

OC10 Taj Mahal is just one example of how Infinity Surfaces combine innovation and aesthetic excellence.

Slab sizes and thicknesses

Taj Mahal OC10 is made in three thicknesses, and the usable area is not quite the same across all of them. This matters when a worktop run or a splashback is being set out, so it is worth having the real numbers to hand.

  • 6mm at 3200 x 1600mm, rectified, so the slab size and the working area are the same
  • 12mm at 3240 x 1620mm, unrectified, with a working area of 3200 x 1600mm
  • 20mm at 3240 x 1590mm, unrectified, with a working area of roughly 3200 x 1570mm

The 6mm is the usual choice for cladding and vertical work where weight matters. The 12mm covers most worktops and table tops. The 20mm suits a solid-feel worktop, an island, or anywhere a larger overhang is wanted.

Finishes

Taj Mahal is not offered in the same finishes at every thickness, which catches people out:

  • 6mm in Polished, rectified
  • 12mm in Satin or Polished, non-rectified
  • 20mm in Satin or Polished, non-rectified

Polished lifts the golden veining and deepens the ivory ground, which is why it is the common pick for islands and feature walls. Satin is calmer underfoot and in daylight, and it hides marks more readily on a working surface.

Where Taj Mahal works

The ivory ground and soft gold veining make it an easy material to build a scheme around, which is why it turns up in quite different settings.

On porcelain worktops and islands it is the most common use, usually in 12mm or 20mm with a mitred edge so the slab reads as a solid block rather than a sheet. It is also specified for dining and coffee table tops, where a single slab can span the whole piece without a joint.

In 6mm it is used for cladding, feature walls and splashbacks, where the lighter slab is easier to handle and to fix. The surface is stain, scratch and heat resistant, and it does not need sealing, which is the practical reason it gets chosen over natural quartzite for kitchens and hospitality work.

You can see full Taj Mahal OC10 slabs in our London and Manchester warehouses. Slabs are held in stock, and viewing is by appointment so the full sheet can be laid out for you.

Common questions

Is Taj Mahal OC10 porcelain or natural stone?

It is porcelain. Taj Mahal OC10 is a large format porcelain slab made by Infinity Surfaces in Italy, designed to read like natural quartzite. It does not need sealing and it is stain, scratch and heat resistant.

What sizes does Taj Mahal OC10 come in?

Three thicknesses. 6mm at 3200 x 1600mm rectified, 12mm at 3240 x 1620mm with a working area of 3200 x 1600mm, and 20mm at 3240 x 1590mm with a working area of roughly 3200 x 1570mm.

Which finish should I use for a kitchen worktop?

Both Satin and Polished are available in 12mm and 20mm. Polished lifts the veining and suits islands and feature pieces. Satin is more forgiving on a working surface and shows marks less readily.

Can I see a full slab before committing?

Yes. Full slabs are held in our London and Manchester warehouses and you are welcome to view them. Visits are by appointment so the whole sheet can be laid out.
